Q: Don't like Watch OS3

Despite all the hype, not happy with WatchOS 3. Want to go back to OS2. I want my side button functionality back for contacts. I used this daily. Easiest way to quickly call or message my family and friends. Now that is gone completely. It is now easier to pull out my phone, which completely negates the reason I bought the watch.

Oh, and if you're going to suggest I can use Siri to quickly call or message someone, no I can't. I'm not allowed to use Siri where I work and spend 11 hours of every day.

I now just have a fancy digital watch. No longer a good communication device.

Thanks Apple for bricking my watch.

If you'd like, you can send feedback to Apple directly > http://www.apple.com/feedback/watch.html

Just so you are aware, this is a user to user community. You are not communicating directly with Apple here. Volunteers reply to discussions so we have no way of knowing whether or not Apple actually monitors discussions.

I hated that feature and I am glad it's gone. Most people probably thought that and it's why Apple got rid of it. I think, though, it would have been better to have the option to configure what the button does.

Yoh may have hated but I loved it and it was major feature. The least they could have done is move that functionality to an app.But instead it's gone. Now it's easier to reach for my iPhone.

OS updates should improve features and add features, not completely take a feature away.

Won't be upgrading to a Series 2, I can tell you that.

Same here Richard, they took a step backwards by removing the carousel of friends.  I like you cannot rely on siri to call or send a message at all times I want to call or text.

I'm not really sure that this would be any quicker than opening the Phone app on the watch and selecting the "Contacts" option.

Adding new features without removing old ones would result in a horrible, unusable mess. Some versions of Microsoft Word stand as a testament to this. It's unfortunate when it's a feature we like that's removed but that is the way things work. I think it's going to be hard for me to adjust from Glances to the Dock. But, most likely, I will adjust over time.

I think saying that the update "bricked" your watch is a bit over the top, though. The watch works exactly as intended. If it were bricked, it would be unusable by anyone.

I will amend my statement to replace bricked with useless.

When I now reach for the phone more times per day because I can't do it easily on the Watch anymore, it has lost all appeal for me. And this coming from someone who goes way back with Apple. Like Apple II way back.

All you can do is submit your feature request to Apple. You might be able to find a watch that hasn't been updated still available for sale if you were willing to pay the money.
