Q: Extending FiOS-G1100 WiFi with  Airport Time Capsule

I just received a new FiOS Quantum router FiOS-G1100. I have a Time Capsule tower model A1470 that I attempted to use to extend the WiFi network provided by the G1100. When I restarted the Time Capsule, I got an error message that said the WiFi network was not working, though I could not see an more detailed message describing the error.

Then I reset the Time Capsule and tried to configure it to extend the FiOS WiFI network, but it would not allow me to choose that network for extension.

Can anyone tell me how to allow the Time Capsule extend the network or describe why I can't.

The only method to extend the Quantum router with the Time Capsule would be with both devices interconnected by Ethernet. This would be the basis for a roaming type network. You will NOT be able to extend the Quantum router with the Time Capsule if the connection between them will be wireless.

The Time Capsule is plugged into the Quantum router with Ethernet. The Ethernet connection is fine. The Time Capsule is operating in bridge mode, and the iMac I have connected to the Time Capsule is working fine on the bridged Ethernet.

In a roaming network, you do NOT want to use the "Extend a network" option in the AirPort Utility. This was intended only when the connection between routers will be wireless. Instead, the TC should be configured to "Create a wireless network." Is this not the case?
