Q: 5 days without ability to receive any iCloud email

Hi,

It has been 5 days since I have been unable to receive any iCloud email. Problem is in the back-end.  Have escalated to Apple Support and they say they have engineers looking into it.  I can send emails but not receive any of them.  My gut feel is some sort of file corruption of my mailbox server-side.

Has anyone seen anything like this?  I am amazed that in 2016 it takes 5 days and counting to resolve email issues.

Thanks

iMac with Retina 5K display, iOS 9.3.5

I haven't had any such problems as you describe, but my only suggestion would be to hold tight.  Do you have another third party email you can use in the meantime?

Thank you. Yes I do have another email service but problem is changing registrations all over the place to replace my iCloud email to a new one is a major pain.

At this point still waiting.  They say engineering still looking into it.  Day 6 now.

Over a week now and still no email.  Given weekend presumably engineers are off so expecting a few more days of not receiving any emails.

Definitely lessons learnt around relying on iCloud for critical email.

If it's over a week a now, I'd say, give them another call to inquire what's going on.  And, they will be there even though it's the weekend.

Finally solved after 2 weeks.  New emails are coming now however all emails that was sent to me in the last 2 weeks were unrecoverable.

The support person mentioned this could have been potentially due to changing my Apple ID recently.  I had made made my default ID to be @icloud.com from the @mac.com that I have had for many years.
