With a broken screen you will not get much back.

Apple won't trade it in unless it was enrolled in the iPhone Upgrade program last year.

You should get the screen fixed by a local shop and then sell it privately to get the most out of it.

Then show up at the Apple store with cash in hand....

The retail Apple Store used to accept old iPhones in trade ... but not iPhones out of working order.

So the option I would recommend is two-steps:

    • Have the Apple Store perform a screen replacement on your iPhone 6S.
    • Then have the Apple Store evaluate the value of that working iPhone 6S as a trade-in for an iPhone 7.

Of course, this will cost you quite a bit of money, as @RUSD Tech suggests.  And, there are conditions such as you must have consent from your cellular carrier that you are the outright owner of the iPhone 6S.
