Q: After iOS 10 update, five AppleTV App icons.

After iOS 10 update on my iPhone 6 via iTunes on my Mac, five Apple TV App icons appeared on the iPhone. They will not delete, either on the iPhone or in iTunes on my Mac. They are not listed in in iTunes on my Mac. They are gray with a darker gray pattern. They are of course not functional. They are: Animal Planet, CBC News, Fox News, FXNOW, and USA TODAY. I certainly would like to delete these icons. For now, I'm covering them with duct tape. But, I'm hoping someone has a better option.  This one's a head stumper for me.

    Hi there, Jack Markham1!

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. After reading your post, I see there are a handful of Apple TV apps that have appeared on your iPhone after an update to iOS 10. The apps themselves are unusable, and you're having trouble deleting them. I understand it's important to be able to manage your apps, and to make sure only the apps you need are on each device. I'm happy to help!

I've got a few steps I recommend you go through. Follow them in order, stopping when the issue is resolved.
    1. Restart your iPhone following the steps here: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    2. Try deleting the apps under Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > (Storage) Manage Storage

    3. Backup your iPhone, then restore it to factory settings. Instructions for backing up to iCloud or iTunes can be found here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Once your backup is created, you can use the following article to restore your iPhone to factory settings: Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

After the iPhone is restored to factory settings, set it up as a new device (meaning without your backup, at least temporarily). Sign into iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and the iTunes and App Store with your Apple ID. Then, try restoring your backup. If the apps re-appear after restoring your backup, use iTunes to restore your iPhone back to factory settings once more, then manually re-download your content from the iTunes and App Stores using the steps here: Download your past purchases

    Cheers!
