Q: iOS 10

I recently installed iOS 10 on my iPhone 6s. It seemed to be working fine however the screen would occasionally not respond but it was fixed by locking the device and unlocking again. However just recently the screen completely froze and it would not do anythings, there was mini translucent vertical lines going through the screen about 1.5 millimetres apart from each other, and the screen around the edges has a sort of vignette effect. It stayed like that for about 10 seconds then it completely turned off. I tried doing the force restart procedure and putting it into recovery mode however nothing would happen. I have connected the phone to iTunes on my Windows PC, however I am unable to do anything with the phone as it is passcode locked.

I am using a Gold iPhone 6s 16gb running iOS 10.

    Hi rossbannon1!

I understand your iPhone 6s is having some display issues, and you're unable to restore due to a passcode on the device.  I know it's important to have the display working properly, and I'm happy to offer some help.  You can use the following instructions to perform a restore with the iPhone in recovery mode.  Please be advised that this will erase the data on the iPhone, so hopefully you have a backup to restore to it afterward.

If you can‘t update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
