Q: Problems on iPad after iOS 10 update, starting lack & no TOUCH ID !

I Use and iPad Air 2 and just updated to iOS 10 a short while ago. Experiencing two problems:

1) when I start my iPad , the screen shows the apple logo for a good 3-4 minutes and then it goes to lock screen- massive lag!

2) my iPad no longer recognizes touch ID! I get an error stating Touch ID is not available on this iPad.

Over all the sleep button has slowed down too since the update and the device is showing a lot of lag. I'm having problems with the music app on my iPhone after the updat as in it won't run at all.

This is utterly frustrating and if any one can help me on my multiple issues that'd be great.

Thanks.

iPad Air, iOS 9.3.5

    Hello there, misbah.mk!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having some issues with your iPad Air. I know how important it is to be sure the iPad Air is working properly for you at all times. First, check out this article with steps to Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

The next thing you might want to try is going to Settings on the iPhone and then to Reset. Once there, tap Reset all Settings. This will reset the iPhone settings, but not erase personal information such as photos, contacts, or music. It will, however, remove Wi-Fi and VPN settings so be sure you have those settings and passwords ready for when the iPad is started back up.

If that doesn't work, it would be a good idea to be sure there is not a software issue as the root cause of this for you.

    1. Check out this article for the steps for How to backup your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
    2. Use this article for the steps to Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings.
    3. Once that is done, set the phone up as new and test the phone to see if the issue is still going on. Then, follow this article to Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

    Cheers!

Thank you for the reply, I restarted my device & rest all settings but despite that my iPad still took 2min and 30 secs to power on- which is my primary complain post iOS 10 update- before the unfortunate update it only took 15 secs to power on.

And despite the reset it still doesn't support TOUCH ID and when i go to settings to add a fingerprint for setting up Touch ID , i get an error & failure to set up notice.

This is infuriating to say the least, I'm having issues with my iPhone and iPad both after the update! Tried calling support that didn't work.  please help me out as I am on my last nerve right now!

I had exactly the same issue with Touch ID after ios 10 update on my iphone 6s.  It no longer works. So far, have been unable to fix using many different suggestions.  I hope that someone can come up with a solution.
