One can easily see the notifications even on the Locked screen without a "proper finger" or access code. Major privacy issue. Somewhat similar to the one that previous iOs had when you could access the phone unlocking it using Camera app.
On previous phones, you couldn't access anything but the Camera app through the camera button. Let's not spread misinformation.
If you don't want to see notifications on the lock screen for a particular app, go to Settings>Notificaions><App> and set Show on Lock Screen to "Off".
And, don't leave your phone lying around.

I don't leave my phone, but uf i loose it i do not want My personal info, even in cropped way available to others. Like the Uber notifications.
