Nov 3, 2015 8:38 AM in response to haefligerweby cogrider,Open the app for "Contacts." Go to "View" at the top of your screen. Click "Show Groups." Everything should appear as you are used to seeing it. Apple chat support cleared this up for me very quickly and I could not believe it was so simple. I hope this helps.

Nov 3, 2015 10:10 AM in response to cogriderby haefligerwe,Thank you for your reply. However, the «group» column was always there in contacts, but my groups were missing. As they were still in on my iPad and my iPhone, I painstakingly «reconstructed» them by hand on my iMac. As it turned out, every time I updated an address that appeared in one of the old groups the whole of that group «reappeared», so that I then had two groups with the same addresses. The whole thing was rather strange, but in the meantime everything seems to be back to normal. Thank you again for your assistance.
