Q: Unable to update to WatchOS3
Hi,
My first post! Please be gentle!
I set my watch updating to WatchOS3 and left it for maybe half hour. Came back and it looked like it was done. I took the watch away from my phone and then realised it wasn't complete... Returned the watch to near the phone but it was too late. The installation must have failed. Since then if I go into the software update section of the watch app it says 'Watch OS 2.2.2 Your software is up to date'
How do I get this to see there is newer software available?
Things I've tried -
Turning both the watch and phone off and on again.
Unpairing the watch with the phone and repairing using the backup made on the day.
Unpairing the watch with the phone and repairing as a new watch.
Unpairing the watch with the phone and repairing using a backup with watchos 2 (not 2.2.2).
I tried apple tech support and they got me to try these steps above and then because I didn't respond fast enough they ended the chat session
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Joe.

Hi
In order to update your watch to watchOS 3, your iPhone must be running the latest version of iOS:
If your iPhone is already up to date, it may help to follow these steps:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Usage > Software Update - delete the update file, if one is shown > try to update again.
- If beta profiles are installed on either of your devices, it may help to delete them and restart both devices again.
