Q: Rewinding a project in FCPX

Im editing a project in FCP, the total length is 30min, includes videos, photos, transitions, titles and few soundtracks. At the end of the video, I want to put title "The End?", and then put the whole project (30min) in 30 sec in reverse order, so that after the final title it comes back to the beginning. How can I do that? Rewind function in FCP can't do this, maximum rewind speed is 4x and it only works with video bits, doesn't include my photis. The only idea I have is to save the whole project as a single file, then import it back into FCP, increase its speed by 10x and insert it after my titles . is there any way that would be quicker/more efficient?

    YYou could try a compound clip. Make the whole project a compound clip. Put a copy of the copy back in the timeline. Use retiming to reverse it and speed it up.

    <cough>

    one minute = 60 secs, time has unfortuantely no metric scale

    And I would consider a much higher speed, watch any movie in any speed 30secs backwards - that is a looooong time.

    So, my suggestion is:

    start with a ramped backwards, supported with a backwards audio (which gets faster and faster), cut a few stills together, and ramped slow down at the end… beginning of your movie. But that whole sequence not longer than 5-6secs.

    wthat you said makes sense, however I cannot make a compound clip for some reason. When I select all the files in the timeline and click New compound clip it just makes an error sound and nothin happens. Tried several times and tries different selections, it still won't make me a compound clip ...

    Yes I realized that 30s is way too long. However, I'm still new to FCPX and am not familiar at all with the ramping part, sounds slightly more complicated than the compound option

    Post a screenshot of your timeline to see what you're looking at. What are you doing to make the compound clip?
