Q: How Can I Import Video From DV Camera

I have many DV tapes from a Canon video Camera.  How can I import these videos to my Mac.  Need advice on cabling as well as import application.

You can use either iMovie or Quicktime player to import your video. It's likely your camera uses Firewire to export so you will need a firewire cable. If your computer has firewire ports you are all set. If it has Thunderbolt ports then you also need a firewire to thunderbolt adapter for your firewire cable.

Thanks Jim, you are correct.  I had a hard time finding a firewire port on the camera because it's hidden on the front face of the camera, behind a snap-off section of the housing.  Problem solved!
