Q: problem with photo library

Select and merge the empty items into one and ignore them, until a next update fixes this.

I had this same issue but on my phone. When I deleted pics, I would have them in a folder for recently deleted pictures. Once I permanently deleted those photos from that folder, the blank spaces disappeared. Hope this helps.
