Q: Apple Account Compromised? My phone number has been updated and the address was changed

Earlier today I was working on my mac and a notification popped up saying "AppleCare would like to view your screen". Since I had not requested help or anything i clicked decline. The message kept appearing for 5 more times or so, each time I clicked decline.

A couple of minutes later I got an email saying my phone number had been removed from VoicePass. So I logged into my support profile and my phone number was indeed gone, replaced with another phone number. My address had also been changed. I tried to delete the phone number and re-add my phone number but it wouldn't let me.

Has my account been compromised? I tried to contact apple but I am unable to do so, and the first call I could schedule online is on Sunday.

Thanks.

Why weren't you able to change the phone numbers on VoicePass? Did you change your Apple ID password right away? I would recommend that you do that if you haven't yet.

    Cheers,

Thanks for the reply. It says the phone number is already being used with another account. Will change my password. I also removed all previously sold devices from my account.

OK, so when I click Edit next to the numbers on VoicePass, I see a note that indicates:

These phone numbers were saved with your Apple ID. Select numbers to add them to VoicePass or to allow SMS from Apple Support.

So, log into your Apple ID to see if your Apple ID phone numbers have been changed. If they have been changed, see if you can edit your number back on your Apple ID.

With your passcode changed, you should be OK until you are able to talk to Apple on Sunday. Something is definitely not right here.

    Best of luck!

The phone number has been changed and can't change it back. I'll see if I can maybe call them tomorrow instead.

    Thanks for your help!
