Sep 15, 2016 6:49 PM in response to kludwick90by charshaz,Just an enquiry,, along with this alert, was there any kind of error code?
I had the same problem and it gave me an error code 4013. I had to update the universal bus driver on my computer and restart my computer and phone again. I am not sure if it might help you.

Sep 16, 2016 5:57 PM in response to kludwick90by Miku-Marmalade,Uninstall iTunes and reinstall it.
A minor nuisance, I know. I have an HP Pavilion running Windows 10. This resolved the issue of iTunes not reading my iPhone.
The solution was found here,

Sep 23, 2016 8:45 PM in response to kludwick90by onstar20,I'm having a different syncing issue. Setup: iPhone 6S Plus 128GB running iOS 10.0.2 iTunes 12.5.1.21 on Windows 10 When I try to sync the iPhone to iTunes, it goes through steps 1 of 6 to 5 of 6 successfully. Step 6 of 6 starts by syncing music. It will hang on the first song. The song file is not corrupt (file synced to iPhone before, it plays fine on iTunes; also, copied the file to wife's Mac, synced to her iPhone 6S via iTunes, and no problem). When the phone had iOS 10.0.1, it had the same problem. I already tried uninstalling iTunes, reboot, then reinstalling iTunes. Any other thoughts?

Sep 24, 2016 8:43 AM in response to onstar20by onstar20,After trying dozens of different things, I did a hard reset on my phone (Settings / General / Reset / Erase All Content and Settings). Then I set it up as a new phone and did a restore via iCloud backup. Now, everything works. At least there is ONE way to make the iPhone work with iTunes. ;)

Sep 25, 2016 12:20 AM in response to onstar20by XRayLexx,Same issue here! The sync stops on track 1 of however many. I'm in the middle of a restore and hoping that works. Strangely my iPad syncs music and the same music files fine. I think it's something to do with the new way ios10 handles cloud and downloaded music
