Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. I know how important having your iPad work properly after updating is to you! The good news is the following steps will be helpful in resolving your issue of delays with using keyboard and issues with the touchscreen.
1. Restart your device as the shut down and start up process is important to keep the iOS software running properly:

2. Make a backup of your personal data, to make sure your info is safe in case this is a bigger issue.

Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
3. If your iPad is still having an issue, the next step is to Reset All Settings from Settings > General > Reset on your device. This resets all of your device’s settings like Wallpaper, Sounds, Display & Brightness, Background App Refresh, Date & Time, and removes all of your previously used Wi-Fi networks and passwords.

Sep 24, 2016 5:50 AM in response to tbross1970by MiMi Doe,I have experienced this, too when trying to use the on line crossword puzzel keyboard. Some keys do not work at all, others are extremely slow. I have rebooted the iPad But the problem persists.
