Q: mail ios 10 trash all command

Thanks a bunch. That works the same as "Trash All" for me. The missing "Trash All" was the first thing I noticed after the IOS 10 upgrade.

It was there with the last update only. Then gone with ios 10.

IT was there I used it everyday and I miss it, hope they bring it back. You can always go to deleted mail if you did it accidentally.

Everyone needs to provide feed back to APPLE about the removal of the TRASH ALL function in MAIL.  On this site, you are merely discussing this, not providing feedback to APPLE.  The message below came from a chat with an APPLE  rep:

It is unusual, I've got mini running on 9.3.5 and it's there, I can assure you, just like the photo further up. The thing about it is that for me it never worked right on pop accounts. Aftrr deleting the mails they would disappear but then after a while they would come back again.

I've got the sensation that when using pop Mail on multiple devices the command failed and Apple hasn't been able to resolve it so they have opted for burning the command till they get it right. It is very useful if it works. I imagine most people using pop have configured their mail to leave the messages on the server so with this configuration you don't loose the original messages.

with IMAP it worked ok.

Now we have to go back deleting one by one, that's going backwards.

It is a manipulation slightly longer but still better than selecting the mails one by one.

It will do with it, time that Apple fixes the problem.

The Trash All command opened after pressing Edit in email. I used it several times a day. Now in iOS 10, I do not have a Select All option; I have a Mark All. When I press it, I receive options for Flag and Mark as Read. I do not get an option for Trash until I mark each individual email. The Genius at the local Apple store could not find any way to Trash All either. He suggested not using Apple's email app, but just going directly to each individual email carrier (Yahoo, gMail, etc.) I suggest sending Apple feedback that this feature is wanted and missed.

Perhaps your iOS 9 did not support the Trash All feature or you just did not know how to access it. I know it was on mine as I used it several times a day by accessing Edit in my email. The Trash All icon then appeared at the bottom right of my screen. If I accidentally deleted an email, I went to my Trash folder, found it and moved it back to my Inbox. Much more convenient than marking 60 emails individually or deleting one by one.

I was at the local Apple store yesterday where the Genius played around with my updated phone for quite a while and finally told me that Apple appears to have removed the Trash All feature. He suggested that I just don't use the Apple email app but access my email carrier directly.

I suggest we send feedback to Apple complaining long and loudly. Maybe it will come back in a future update.

From my experience, there was never a separate option to 'delete all', but you could achieve that goal in a few simple steps.  I was able to 'select all' messages in a folder, then select 'archive' which had another option to delete.  I for one am missing that they have removed the 'select all', since it was part of my daily email triage.   I for one DO NOT want to have to manually select every single message in the folder to delete it, that's a waste of time. I am now forced to once again abandon Mail and find a more user friendly email client for my phone.

I know how to leave Apple feedback thanks, what I want is for you to list the sequence of menu commands you used to access the 'Trash All" command. As you have done it why not tell me how you did it.

As noted, I do not have Trash All in iOS 10 either. The Apple Genius I consulted stated that I just not use the Apple app. Hence my suggestion to leave feedback.

The note I showed on how to get to Trash All was in iOS 9.
