Q: iOS 10 - No Emoji proposal

After Update to iOS 10, die Keyboard should provide Emoji proposals.

f.e. Typing "mac" should Display a mac-Emoji on the 3rd Position of proposal bar.

I know one iPhone (6s) where it does.

On my iPhone (6s) and my wifes (6) it does not.

Is there any configuration to activate These proposals?

Have you restarted or reseted your iPhone after updated to iOS 10? If not, please do this.

A number of folks have reported the same issue. You can find a few threads on the issue here in the discussion groups, each with users who have tried various solutions to no avail:

    1) remove all keyboards; hard reset (press home and power buttons for 10 sec); add back emoji keyboard

    2) turn off predictive (General -> Keyboard -> Predictive); hard reset; turn on predictive

    3) clear keyboard dictionary (General -> Reset -> Reset Keyboard Dictionary); hard reset

    none of these have worked.

Some people have mentioned doing a full device wipe; however, I started with iOS 10 on my iPhone 6 out-of-the-box from an Apple Store today, and mine doesn't work. For what it's worth, it doesn't work on my iPad Air 2 either.

The only way I get emoji's is to type the word in question (mac, plane, sheep), then press the keyboard switcher and select the emoji keyboard. This highlights the words in orange from which I can then select emojis. I can't get the predictive selection to work.

I suspect it will end up being a quiet bug fix in iOS 10.0.1 or something like that.

Same issue here. I've tried all the work arounds but nothing works.

Strance thing is, they were working in the ios10 GM beta, which had the same version number as the public release.

Exactly the same - tried all the proposed fixes, nothing works.

The feature is working perfectly on my wife's 6S (I have the same Model) and we upgraded within minutes of each other.

I've posted on this yesterday but the thread appears to be long gone. I've tried all the internet remidies myself as well no luck. Really strange how this is really random and doesn't appear to be related to the model device or when you upgraded.

    SUDDENLY IT WORKS!

Since yesterday 19:00 local time, it works.

I've only recharged the phone. I haven't updated anything. But suddenly the Emojis ar proposed as expected.

I have the same issue... I updated on the 14th at night and emoji proposal in Message has never worked. I tried all suggested remedies (switch prediction on and off with a hard restart in between, reset dictionary, erase and reinstall keyboards) but don't get it to work. My wife did the update to IOS 10 at the same time and it all works perfectly... We have iPhone 6 plus (doesn't work) and iPhone 6 (it works). I'm actually really disappointed... especially that the update to IOS 10 took a very long time on my phone...

It suddenly started working ! I had given up and suddenly my iPhone started showing words in orange in message, which are transforming into emojis when I touch th and shortly after that it started proposing emojis in the predictions. I didn't change anything. I'm really happy it works
