Q: iPhone 5s Touch ID doesn't work after update to iOS 10

Hello,
I recently updated my phone to iOS 10 (from version 9.3.5) and Touch ID doesn't work anymore.

After rebooting, the phone will display the message "Touch ID cannot be activated on this device".

Next, I tried to change settings, add a fingerprint and I'm still seeing the same message: "Failed, unable to complete the Touch ID setup. Please go back and try again."

Some ideas?

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I know having an issue with Touch ID is not what you expect. The good news is the following steps will be helpful in resolving your issue with Touch ID:

Use Touch ID on iPhone and iPad

If the steps in the “Get help with Touch ID” section of that article don’t help to resolve your issue, you would need to seek service for your iPhone, and here is Apple’s website on this to get you started:

it happen on my 5s too, it may just a bug on iOS10.
