    Hello jeanettefromhatfield,

Thanks for bringing up your SIM question here in the Apple Support Communities. I don't know what I would do if my iPhone was acting up. I am happy to help get you started trying to get your iPhone working as you expect it should.

As always, we recommend you make a backup of your device before starting any troubleshooting. Since you have SIM issues, you may not be able to complete this step, but I still wanted to make sure we tried to make a backup in iCloud or iTunes prior to starting troubleshooting. Use this article for help with that: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. If you are unable to get a backup due to the issues, please move on to the two help articles I discuss below for your current issue.

I recommend starting with: If you can't activate your iPhone. This is a great help article that offers many things to check, and even links you to a few other great help articles that may help solve the issue. If it does not, or the issue is with a SIM PIN, please check this help article: Use a SIM PIN for your iPhone or iPad. This article has you try a few things, and offers some guidance such as not to guess the pin or you may become locked out of the SIM card, and need a new one from your cellular provider. There is also an area that discusses contacting your carrier and asking for the default SIM PIN or PUK code.

Thanks again and have an amazing rest of your day.

    Hi

Simlock is 0000 or 1111 unless the iphone owner has changed this

I changed mine if iphone is lost / stolen it stops someone using simcard in another phone

And running up a big bill.

    Cheers

    Brian
