Sep 15, 2016 9:41 PM in response to MarcW1gby h0tc4r1,Same problem. 4th gen apple tv is not being recognized as a hub... homekit does not show up under settings, accounts, icloud.
I have 2 factor auth turned on
I have keychain enabled
I Have followed all directions as listed in the links sent above. No luck.... apple tv simply does not want to act as a hub. I can enable my iPad as a hub and automation starts working. apple tv wont do it.

Sep 17, 2016 5:32 PM in response to bootneck63by Kevin Callahan,I spent 3 hours trying to solve the problem today - no love with Apple TV Gen 4. Making my iPad Pro 12.9 a hub worked instantly, just as soon as I turned on the appropriate switch in Settings - Home - Use this iPad as a Home Hub.
I was on the phone with Apple for about an hour. We concluded that tvOS 10 on at least Apple TV Gen 4 is the issue. The tech guy is sending it up the channel. Hopefully Apple will fix this ASAP. I don't want to use my iPad Pro as a hub given it goes with me the majority of the time I leave the house.

Sep 17, 2016 6:42 PM in response to Kevin Callahanby Kevin Callahan,One more thing - Has anyone been able to INVITE someone to be able to control accessories in Home? I invited my wife. She received the invitation, accepted the invite, but for 15+ minutes, saw the spinning activity indicator. I removed her and sent a new invite. After accepting, it's been spinning for over an hour.

I have the latest software on my ATV 4 and it's working fine as my hub. For me, the sticking point was two-factor authentication. I had somehow missed that part of the instructions. Once I set that up, set right up.

Sep 17, 2016 6:56 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby Kevin Callahan,How did you get two-factor authentication invoked on your Apple TV? When I set up the Phillips HUE app, I did 2-factor authentication. But for Home + Apple TV 4th Gen, I was never asked for it because it didn't see the Apple TV 4th Gen on the network. I did set up 2-factor auth for the iPad and it worked instantly. Suggestions for forcing 2-factor authentication on Apple TV Gen 4?

Sep 17, 2016 7:01 PM in response to Kevin Callahanby Meg St._Clair,All I did was enable 2FA. I did it through my iPhone. It didn't require any changes in the ATV4. Setting up my Hue lights never required it. Have you logged out and logged back in on the ATV4?

Sep 17, 2016 7:01 PM in response to Kevin Callahanby Kevin Callahan,I just found this:
Availability of two-factor authentication in iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan - Apple Support
Set up from a device you're already using
If you're not setting up a new device, make sure that you’re using iOS 9 or later or OS X El Capitan or later on your iOS device or Mac and follow these steps to turn on two-factor authentication.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
- Go to Settings > iCloud > tap your Apple ID.
- Tap Security.
- At the bottom of your screen, look for a button that says Turn on Two-Factor Authentication.
On your Mac:
- Go to Apple () menu > System Preferences > iCloud > Account Details.
- Click Security.
- At the bottom of your screen, look for a button that says Turn on Two-Factor Authentication.
If you don’t meet the recommended system requirements on all the devices you use with your Apple ID, or if you don’t have a valid credit card on file, you'll receive a related warning message. Read the message before proceeding and consider updating your devices or adding credit card information to your account to ensure the best possible experience when signing in or resetting your password.

Sep 17, 2016 7:03 PM in response to Kevin Callahanby Meg St._Clair,I did get a warning. I think I still have my original iPad connected to my account and it tripped the warning. But, it didn't stop the process.

Sep 17, 2016 7:11 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby Kevin Callahan,Logging out and logging back in required 2FA. At first Home's "Automation" tab bar item showed the same issue - no way to set up an automation. I toggled to other tabs and came back to the Automation tab and all was good. Thanks for the tip! It had occurred to me to do just that, log out, when talking with the apple tech guy, but we were going through other processes. I will call them and add this to the case so they can figure out a way for this to go seamlessly for those in similar situations.

Sep 17, 2016 7:41 PM in response to Kevin Callahanby Kevin Callahan,Has anybody been able to INVITE someone (as in a spouse) to the Home kit authenticated users group? I've sent an invite to my wife a few times... just spins for an hour or more. 2FA problem? Probably so. But there is not indication on my end as to the reason for failure.
