Sep 13, 2016 9:10 PM in response to PinkieSSSSSSby Officer Bonasera,Apple will most likely not bring the "swipe to unlock" feature back since it was just removed today. You don't need to have an iPad with Touch ID to unlock it though. Pressing the Home button will do the exact same thing that swipe to unlock did, just sans swiping.

Sep 13, 2016 9:17 PM in response to PinkieSSSSSSby gail from maine,Apple is not here as this is a user to user technical support forum. However, you can still use your Touch ID to unlock your device. See if this article helps you to become more familiar with the new process introduced with iOS 10:

Sep 13, 2016 9:33 PM in response to PinkieSSSSSSby bobseufert,You can still swipe to unlock. Pull Spotlight Search from the left or from the middle of the page. Then tap one of the app icons. Also swiping any Notification will open your iPad instead of having to tap the home button a second time.

Sep 15, 2016 2:58 AM in response to PinkieSSSSSSby Osirisss,Agree! I have an iPad pro, swiping to the left now brings me the camera, which I never ever ever use on my 12.9 inch iPad. It makes no sense for iPads to replace the swipe to unlock function with camera. It's ergonomically awkward when using the iPad to use touch ID to unlock, especially when I'm holding it with one hand and apple pencil in the other. It works well with my iPhone, but not the iPad. At least give us the option for crying out loud.
