Q: My 2.5 years old iPhone 5s call audio volume is slightly lower than before.

HI guys

When I compared my 2.5 years old iPhone 5s with a newly bought iPhone 5s device, the audio volume is pretty low.

I Checked wth  store. They ask me to replace the    for cost, which is unaffordable for me.

Is that expected? Does iPhones performance slower down after years?? I've no glitches found in my iPhone performance in iOS 10 except this audio volume problem.

Help me with this. Restore din work

iPhone 5s, iOS 10

If restore as new does not resolve, then you would have to buy an out of warranty replacement.

In most cases, a decrease in audio volume is due to the speaker grill becoming clogged with dust and other various "stuff" (applicable to both the earpiece speaker and the loudspeaker). If cleaning the external part of the grill doesn't change anything, they can be replaced (although not by Apple). That said though, it's much cheaper than purchasing an out of warranty replacement. It does mean forgoing any future out of warranty replacement for this phone, but for this model, it's probably a mute point.
