Sep 18, 2016 7:24 AM in response to nioton_ahbby Starr.C,Thanks for trying those steps, that info helps. You may need to move to move to some further troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue:
1. Restart your device as the shut down and start up process is important to keep the iOS software running properly, then test with multiple sets of headphones:
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
2. The next step is to backup your personal data and Reset All Settings from Settings > General > Reset on your device. This resets all of your device’s settings like Wallpaper, Sounds, Display & Brightness, Background App Refresh, Date & Time, and removes all of your previously used Wi-Fi networks and passwords.
How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Reset iPhone Settings - iPhone User Guide
3. Last step before having to contact Apple about this is to use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iOS software to factory settings, as this process erases the information and settings on your device and installs a fresh copy of the latest iOS software. Then, setup the iPhone as new and test with multiple sets of headphones and see if the issue is resolved.

Have a great day and thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
