Q: Is the loss of audio in iPhone 5S widespread?
My iPhone 5S has suddenly stopped playing audio from any source (ring, music, video, chat) from my external speakers. I have tried multiple restarts and checked all settings to no avail. audio via bluetooth and headphone jack still works and the normal phone speaker used when receiving a call still works. Just the external speakers are no longer functioning.

You have verified all Settings, but have you checked to make sure the Mute switch on the side of the phone just above the volume controls isn't turned on? It would be switched towards the back of the phone, and you would see a small red line at the top when looking at it directly.
