Q: itunes match and IOS 10 behaviour change ?

I'm a long time time Itunes match user with a very big library.

This library is also available on my iphone

Most of the time, I listen to my music streamed to the iphone in shuffle mode.

As a side effect, a copy of piece gets downloaded to the phone, which is very practical when I'm not online.

(at least up to an including IOS 9)

I recently upgraded to an iPhone SE and IOS 10.

I have noticed that the piece is no longer downloaded (or kept ) on the iPhone.

I now have zero pieces stored on the phone, despite the fact that there now this neat feature to limit the amount of storage used by music on the iPhone.

Could anyone shed light on this ?

    Hi Lionrasta,

Thanks for your question.  With iOS 10, if you want to have songs downloaded to your iPhone SE for offline listening, you can either choose to download individual songs, or change the settings in the Music app to automatically download music that you add to your library.   Take a look at the resource below:

Use Apple Music in the Music app

    Listen offline

You can download songs, albums, or playlists to your device so that you can listen to them when you're not connected to the Internet**. Find the song, album, or playlist that you want to download, then tap Apple Music download icon. You'll see Downloaded icon when the download is complete. If you don't see Apple Music download iconadd the music to your Library, then download it to your device.

If you want to automatically download any music that you add to your library, go to Settings > Music, then scroll to the Downloads section and turn on Automatic Downloads.

If you want to see only music that's downloaded to your device, tap Library > Downloaded Music. A message that says "Showing only music on this [device]" appears at the top of the screen. Tap Library in the upper-left corner to see all of your music.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
