Q: iPhone 7 animation lag...

Just picked up my iPhone 7 32GB.. Noticed a lagg when opening and closing a app for the first time.

When i press the home button and open the app again all goes smooth..
Already talked to Apple support, they suggested to restore to factory with IOS 10.0.1 and not to restore any backups.
Just did that, still lagg...  Bit disappointment, my iPhone 6 was smoother..

Anybody else this issue? Must be! Check it out really good, I think this is gonne be reported alot!

I noticed this too. It pauses and the animation is not smooth at all.  Didnt expect this but will be addressed I'm sure.

    Hello,

I have noticed the exact same thing. Mine also has a yellowish screen and far less brightness than my 6s.

Last but not least, my iPhone 7 tends to overheat when I put it to charge. In fact it turns so hot I'm forced to unplug the phone, let it cool, then put it back in charge again ...

this is posted from my iphone 6s btw ... which is flawless

    Best regards,

    Francis

Same issue here. My SE is smooth, but noticeable animation lag on my 7. I would guess taptic Engine or processor management. Seems to be only be affecting the 7. Needs addressed by Apple. Makes me feel like my phone is slower.

I have an iPhone 7 10.0.1 and my iPhone lags as well when opening and closing apps as well.  I have 10.0.1 on an iPhone 6, 6S, and 5 and no animation lag what so ever.  So much for a faster processor on the 7.  Perhaps since people with older iPhones were able to beta test the new software (ios 10) they were able to fix the lag for those devices before being released.  Hopefully, they will be able to determine what is causing it on the iPhone 7 and fix it soon.  Otherwise I am very disappointed with the 7.

the screen on the iphone 7 is calibrated to slight warmer tone than the iphone 6 or 6s

which isn't necessarily a bad thing as the 6 screens were calibrated to 7500k which was

too blue. However the heating issue seems to be concerning

Yeah could be, but there must be someone at Apple have noticed this while developing the iPhone 7..

I hope there will be an update soon...

I think this is to do with the wallpaper. Changed from the sea scene and nowhere near as noticeable if at all.

I did notice on my 6 that the animations where different though?

I too have this and noticed it almost immediately after getting my phone. If you enable "Reduce Motion" in the Accessibility panel the lag is gone and its super smooth (no animation transition to stutter on). However the downside of that is you then cannot see or use the new animation objects in iMessage. I am sure this is as others have said a software glitch on the iPhone 7 that can be fixed with an OTA.

All other iPhones/iPads etc do not have the haptic or A10 processor, so my theory is that it has something to do with that, i.e. iOS has to send a haptic request when clicking home during this transition time, SE/6/6s etc go directly to home..you get the idea.

The same issue with lags in closing apps animation. After reseting settings on 10.0.1 update it works slightly better. But still lagging. Would like to see answer from Apple's team.

You mean you tried other iPhone 7 models? Where was that, in an Apple store? I have access to 3 iPhone 7s and they all have the problem.

You are correct, all iPhone7's have this problem! Its not hardware related

Hi there, I tried two iphone 7s(one 7 one Plus) from my friends. They are just fine or at least not noticeable. OMG!!

But I just called the apple care staff. I tried their advises, which is just basically resetting and didnt work. I also reported that it seems like a general problem other than just mine. I mentioned this post as well. That guy said he is escalating this issue to the engineers in US and will get back to me as soon as he receives any update.
