Q: iCloud Photo Library delay

Yesterday I took about 100 photos on my iPhone 6S.  It's been about 24 hours and they have yet to appear in my iCloud Photo Library. In Photos on my Mac all I see our empty boxes with a cloud icon -- and nothing can be downloaded. In the past I've had to wait a couple of hours to have photos show up in iCloud Photo Library before, but a whole day??  All settings are unchanged since the recent updates -- enough iCloud storage and sync turned on.  Weird. Any clue what's happening? Or just overload from new iPhone 7 users?

Try going to System Preferences/iCloud and stop syncing. Wait a couple of minutes, then recheck syncing.

Have you tried signing out of iCloud and then sign back in?

I didn't want to sign out of iCloud because I would then have to download all my photos (7,000+) or they would be deleted. Not good.  I just turned off my MBP, waited a couple of minutes, turned it back on and everything is there in Photos. Weird.
