Q: Disable Voice Control in iOS 10

I'm not able to disable voice control. It's really annoying that when I hold the home button too long, it activates the voice control. I tried to Enable Siri, but the app is not showing in my settings. Maybe because I don't want to use Siri. How can I resolve the voice control issue?

iPhone 6, iOS 10

Voice Control cannot technically be disabled.

This workaround will enable Siri which overrides Voice Control, enable a password lock, and then disable Siri from the lock screen. This will keep the Home button from launching Voice Control or Siri if the screen is locked, preventing pocket calls.

    • Open the Settings app.
    • click on Siri (below sound option n above touch id and passcode)
    • Toggle Siri ON. This may seem counter-productive, but you will need to turn Siri on first in order to override Voice Control
    • Return to the Settings menu and select "Passcode"
    • Tap "Turn Passcode on" and create a passcode if you don't have one already.
    • Tap the "Voice Dial" option to turn off voice dialing.
    • Tap the "Siri" option to turn off Siri from the lock screen.
    • Set "Require Password" to "Immediately". This will force your phone to require a passcode as soon as you turn the screen off, preventing pocket calls.
    • Lock your phone. Now that your settings are correct, you won't be able to start the Voice Control or Siri when long-pressing the Home button while the phone is locked in your pocket.

    Hope it works for you..

downside: you now have siri switched on. as soon as you disable it, voice dial will be back to previous state... :

    hi Charshaz,

Unfortunately, this is not at all helpful since the 2nd part of my comments is that Siri is not in my settings menu either. And frankly, I would not want Siri enabled. Is it possible to revert to the previous iOS 9.3.5?
