Q: unable to connect iPhone to itunes/photo

After connecting iPhone 6 into my MacBook Pro (Mac OS X 10.7.5), I get the following:

  1. iTunes could not connect to the iPhone “unrel's iPhone” because an invalid response was received from the device.
  2. Photos in the Camera Roll of "unrel's iPhone" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode.
    • phone is not locked; I've unlocked while plugged in and unlocked before connecting
  3. Trust this computer?
    • pops up on my phone every time I attempt to connect

Only changes i've made since my last back up has been updating iTunes (12.2.2) and updating my iPhone to iOS 10.

Any help is appreciated and thanks!

    Hi UnRel!

I understand that you've updated your iPhone to iOS 10 and cannot use the iPhone with your Mac.  I know it's important to be able to use your iPhone with your Mac, so I'm happy to go over some information for you.  The latest version of iTunes requires OS X 10.9.5 or later, so you must update your Mac in order to use it with your iPhone.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Cheers!
