The "screens" (that portion used to display things) are identical in size.

The home button will be somewhat different.

The thought of un-pasting a screen protector from one device and re-applying it to another does not sound very wise.  Screen protectors are not very expensive.  Are you certain you want to do this?

No, my plan was to buy an iPhone 6s glass screen protector because they are cheaper then the iPhone 7 screen protectors. I know they have them hiked up because this phone is new. I just thought I could save if the old ones fit.

Well, I think the screens are different (as in differently made - they certainly have different color display capabilities) ... but as I say the size of the display area has not changed.

You're paying quite a bit for a brand new iPhone.  Is it really worth saving a small amount of money on the protector?  There is likely a reason the protectors cost different amounts aside from simply dealing with a newer model iPhone.  The protectors may well be literally different - though not in size.

Yes it fits. I recently had ordered the privacy screen from zagg and it wasn't even a month into having it where I upgraded from the 6s to the 7. I carefully removed the screen from the 6s and put it on the 7. It fit perfectly. Although I am going to purchase the Sapphire glass by Zagg once it's available.

yea good luck with that. It might be scratch resistant but trust me it easily breaks or cracks. Haven't you seen it from the Apple watch sapphire displays?

Although the screens are the same size, the issue comes in with the top part of your phone where the speaker/microphone is.  The cut-outs there may be different.  I had ordered a screen protector to be ready for the launch and had to contact company for replacement.  Could be I got a defective one.

Of course, the top portion where the speaker is should not be covered by any protector, regardless of the iPhone model.  There should be no cut-outs, as there is no visible screen above the speakers.  A screen protector should only cover the visible display area.  The protector should not go beyond the visible area anywhere near the speakers.

sberman, that's simply not true.  Some screen protectors are intended to cover the entire screen, including around the speaker and over or around the camera lens (note, I said AROUND the speaker). Some screen protectors may cover strictly over the display area, but your blanket statement is in error.
