Sep 19, 2016 3:33 AM in response to deb.eby Winston Churchill,Try the following steps for the Apple TV 4, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
- Restart the Apple TV (Settings > System > Restart).
- Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
- Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
- Reset the Apple TV (Settings > System > Reset > Reset all settings)
- Restore the Apple TV (Settings > System > Reset > Restore)
If none of the above helps I'd take the unit back to the store.

Sep 19, 2016 5:43 AM in response to Winston Churchillby deb.e,done all this. Still no joy.
device was working fine up until the update. Not a hardware fault.

Sep 19, 2016 5:44 AM in response to Diana.McCallby deb.e,Diana. The issue is not the time, but the fact that the device is being used and the screensaver starts...the only solution is to set to never. Which kind of defeats the purpose of having a screen saver. Never had the issue prior to the software update.

Did they send you away from the store with a unit that still started the screensaver when it shouldn't.

Sep 19, 2016 5:49 AM in response to deb.eby Diana.McCall,Yes. Mine is set to never because it was interfering with audio AirPlay. I activate the screensaver manually by hitting Menu from the home screen. It moves to the upper left, then on to screensaver.

Apple TVMine interferes with nothing, it is set to activate after 2 minutes and works perfectly. If you have restored your Apple TV I'm not sure what else you can do but take it back. You could try it in another location to rule out interference from one of the connections but I'm not sure from what you have said that fiddling about with settings will do you much good.

Sep 24, 2016 9:35 PM in response to Winston Churchillby deb.e,No because as stated issue only started to happen when new iOS installed.
I will discuss with apple store folks but I feel this is a software issue caused by update.
there is no reset > restore in tvOS update 10.0

Sep 24, 2016 9:37 PM in response to Diana.McCallby deb.e,Great to hear I am not the only person having this issue. I too can turn off screen saver and manually set it, but that sort of defeats the purpose of having one.
