Sep 17, 2016 12:26 AM in response to sskkooommaaby Txaginmi,in the app, go to top lh corner(Library) and select "Downloaded Music" at bottom of drag down. This should now give you a new dropdown to select Playlists, Artists, songs, etc. Now you should only see what you have downloaded.

Sep 17, 2016 8:26 AM in response to Txaginmiby MichWitz,Hi - I have the same question, but do not get your advise right.
If I open music app, I can't click any thing in the left top corner - is that a special config item I have to select elsewhere?
Thanks for advice.Michael

Sep 18, 2016 3:46 AM in response to Txaginmiby trevno,You are recommending he do exactly what he, and others including myself think is unnecessary; in iOS 10 you now have to open: Music>Downloaded>Artist>Choose Artist>Album>Song. That's way too many steps just to play a track. The old default to Artists was much more useful, and probably the way people would search for a Song. I am not a fan of Apple Music, and have no intention of using it, so if I disable that from the menu, why would I still want to see Songs that aren't on my device?? FAIL

Sep 19, 2016 7:21 AM in response to sskkooommaaby PunkRockDoc,I have this same issue. There are ton of tracks that are in my iTunes library that I can't stand and do not want on my phone (stuff that my wife downloaded on my account, free samplers with songs I don't like). I shouldnt have to delete each song individually. The biggest issue that I have is when I connect my phone to my car via USB, the car shows all of the songs in the iTunes library, not just what is on my phone, regardless of whether my phone is set to display only downloaded music. this is very frustrating.

Sep 20, 2016 9:03 AM in response to sskkooommaaby Garrett Nelson,Just chiming in to say that the new requirement to navigate through the "Downloaded" menu option is really annoying, and a definite step backwards from iOS 9 (though I suspect it is part of Apple's plan to nudge people towards Apple Music subscriptions and away from syncing actual song files). It's obnoxious to have my phone's music library cluttered by default with everything I've ever purchased.

Sep 20, 2016 9:27 AM in response to sskkooommaaby bitslasher,The way the iOS 10 Music app approaches downloaded vs. purchased music and exactly opposite what I would expect, and going out on a limb here, but probably most people would expect. I would expect (and would want) it to show what I have on my device via the top level menus, and then have a menu titled "Purchased Music" (replacing "Downloaded Music"), that I could go to find something I know I purchased but haven't downloaded yet.
Can you please add a setting to flip this behavior? Call it "Show only music on this device" or something.

Sep 21, 2016 2:20 PM in response to sskkooommaaby grporcaro,i dont understand what's so hard with putting a little toggle under the music in settings that says something like "show only downloaded music" or something like that
seems simple. i hate seeing all those songs on my phone.

Sep 21, 2016 4:40 PM in response to sskkooommaaby cyrilmtl, same problem here, apple will not do anything else to force us to use its cloud stuff
my iphone even start to download music that is not voluntary synced in it when I am listening in suffle play,
instead of my chosen song suddenly I start to old classic music that I have at home in my itune, but NEVER in my iphone, and when I look at the music apps, it was downloading the file and the image, I don't know where did it get it
even if I disable every music stuff/cloud/download I can see in my configuration.
I am afraid that it is going to kill my 3g data by downloading music in my back.

Sep 23, 2016 12:41 AM in response to sskkooommaaby SanderEvers,Indeed I have this issue too. You can go to downloaded music and select the "music on iphone" playlist and shuffle that. But it's too much of a hassle.

Sep 23, 2016 3:11 AM in response to sskkooommaaby BrawlX,Only solution I could find was to delete the track off your phone. Can be done by holding your finger on the track. Can do the same for a whole album (just hold the album)
