I believe that is an effect that you have applied to your clip, not a general feature of the application.

Hover your mouse to the right of the word "Effects" in the Inspector and click "Show" to see which effect that is.

FX Factory and CoreMelt have plug-ins for this. You must have one of them installed is my guess.

I moved timecode display on to the viewer so you could find it. It is part of fcpx

I moved the timecode display to the viewer screen so you could see it. The timecode viewer is in fcpx program not downloaded

IT is NOT repeat NOT built into the application. Period. You are wrong. I gave you a link to a free plugin. I believe that's the one you're showing. You may have got it from somewhere else but it was originally built by Leo Hans in Argentina. Load it and you'll get you're TC viewer.

Tom and the others are correct, this is a third party plugin you downloaded and installed.  FPCX has NO such large, floating timecode window, built-in, PERIOD!

Please anybody who reads this ignore this information. It is bad information. The writer is misinformed. There is no large TC display built into the application. What he's showing is a free plugin that is installed with FxFactory.

If you hold the option key down while clicking on the Apple icon in the Finder toolbar, System Info will open. In the Software category, open Installations.. Click on Source to sort the installations between third party and Apple. Your TC plug-in should be among those in that list.

The keyboard combination you suggest does not work in a standard FCP X installation.

    Double check your figures.

As others have indicated, it's not possible without third party help.
