Most genius Bar technicians do not believe that glass can spontaneously break, and so they attribute broken displays to mis-handling, not latent defect. You are likely on the hook for replacing the screen "out of pocket".

However, if your device is registered with AppleCare, then Apple will repair your device for a fee. If you wish to repair your mac without AppleCare, open the following link to set up a repair with apple.
