Q: Froze, went black, thinking, won't turn off.
The day after i downloaded the latest version, I was hacked. Took it to Apple. They erased the search engine history. Today it was working, then froze, went dark. Thinking, thinking, thinking. Won't turn off.

Try to force it to reboot. Hold down the sleep and home keys for 20 - 30 seconds. If you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot.
