Sep 19, 2016 8:25 PM in response to Xanatos92by Faihle,Reinstalling OS X would be your next step. Fortunately, this doesn't erase your drive, just re-installs your OS.
Hold down Command-R and turn on your computer. Keep holding Command-R until you see the Apple logo.
It should boot to a screen that either says "Choose English as the main language" (which you would do, and then it would take you to OS X Utilities) or OS X Utilities.
To reinstall OS X, you'd click Reinstall OS X and proceed. You do need access to your Apple ID and an internet connection, which you might have to manually connect to when you get into OS X Utilities.

Sep 20, 2016 4:53 AM in response to Faihleby Xanatos92,I started the computer with Command-R and went to reinstall OS X, but the disk partition for my current OS X does not appear. The screen shows "select the disk where you want to install OS X" and it has two options, BOOTCAMP and Recovery HD. I'm not liking the look for this so far...

Sep 20, 2016 6:10 AM in response to Xanatos92by BobHarris,Does it boot into Safe mode?
<http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564>
Safe mode will not load 3rd party additions, which are frequently the cause of boot problems.
If you can get it booted into Safe mode, then please post the output from EtreCheck
<https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6174> or <http://etrecheck.com>
If you cannot boot in Safe mode, then continue attempting to re-install OS X

Sep 20, 2016 7:52 PM in response to BobHarrisby Xanatos92,I can't boot in safe mode. However when I booted to disk utility I noticed that the Macintosh HD is unmounted. I can't see how the hard drive would fail because I can still boot my BOOTCAMP partition. But then again, I can't mount the Macintosh HD or anything so there is no way to attempt to install OS X.
