Q: Sports App Dominates over Music on Watch

Greetings,

I have a perhaps unique issue. I teach a fitness class. The music for this class comes from my iPhone which is hooked into the stereo. Recently, I've started using my watch to control the music with the music app.

All well and good, BUT, before I started class, I picked a work out from the sports app, so that it would, of course, keep track of how well I did during class. Unfortunately, every time lifted my watch to adjust the music, I saw my work out on the screen. I'd double click the crown button back to the music, adjust it, and go back to teaching. Then, when the music was too loud or I needed to pause it, I'd lift the watch and...there was my workout again!

The watch REFUSED to stay on the music. I wanted my work out to be calculated in the background, not on my watch face. I wanted the music to be always on the watch face. But my watch insisted that the work out take precedence.

If two apps are running at the same time (more or less) on the watch, how do I tell it which one I want to see on the screen when I lift my wrist?

Apple Watch, watchOS 3
