Q: I can't find my pictures on iCloud, but they uploaded on my phone anyway, how is it possible?

Hello everybody, (sorry, English is not my first language)

It's weird. I did a saving of my old iPhone because I was going to buy a new one and I didn't want to lose everything.

I put everything on my iCloud account, but I could see only 49 pictures out of 2000...

I gave up and saved the pictures elsewhere. But, when I connected my new phone, all of my pictures were downloaded on it.

Now, I have the 2000 pics on my phone, but I can't see them on iCloud (it is the same email address than iTunes). I don't know if I can delete pictures from my phone (because it doesn't have a lot of space), I don't know where my pictures are saved...

I can't contact Apple support by phone, it doesn't work in my area.

Please, dear Apple community, you're my only hope!

Thank you for your attention

When you say you can't find your pictures on iCloud are you using a computer and viewing iCloud.com > Photos in a web browser.

How do I check the Photos in a web browser? I can't find this option on icloud.com.

iCloud.com is a web site, you can only view it from a web browser.

Then it sounds as though the photos are not in iCloud.

it's quite possible that the photos were transferred to your new phone from a back up.

Please start by telling us your “iCloud Photo Library” and “My Photo Stream” settings on all of your devices. (Settings > Photos & Camera on your iOS device and Photos > Preferences > iCloud on your Mac)

Please also advise if there is any ongoing sync activity on any of your devices (Activity includes uploading, updating, downloading or preparing).

    You must be right

I tried to put all of my pictures on iCloud though and I don't understand why it's not working. I have 30giga available on my account.

    This is what I've done.

Settings > iCloud > Photos > Library iCloud ON

And I checked also the option "Optimization" so that I can have more space on my phone.

Do you know by any chance what I should do?

Thank you again for your help.
