Q: Notes on mac will not sync to iPhone

Hello,

 

I have a macbook pro with version 10.10.5 OS X Yosemite and an iPhone 5s with iOS 10.0.1.

 

I use notes quite extensively and store all my notes to my iCloud. I can edit notes on my iPhone and the alternations appear on my mac. However, if I alter or add notes on my mac, they will not show on my iPhone.

 

I have looked at my online iCloud account and once again, new notes or changes made on my mac do not appear on there.

 

Does anyone know how I can make notes changes done on my mac appear on my iPhone?

Notes are being synced from iPhone to iCloud, but not from mac to iCloud.

 

I spoke to 2 members of the Apple team today who were very helpful and went through a variety of tests. They concluded that the issue is due to the latest iOS update. From what I understood, notes on mac are not updated and compatible with notes on iCloud or my iPhone currently, but there will be an update released later this evening which once downloaded this should resolve the matter.

 

I hope this information is helpful for anyone else who may also be having the same issue.

    Try going to System Preferences/iCloud and stop syncing. Wait a couple of minutes, then recheck syncing.

     

    Have you tried signing out of iCloud and then sign back in?

     

    Did you upgrade iCloud Notes on the device?

    I stopped and restarted synching notes on my iCloud on my mac and that didn't solve the problem.

     

    I tried signing out of iCloud and back in again, both on my iPhone and my mac. However things have now worsened and the changes I make to notes on my iPhone will no longer show on my mac, and as before the changes I make on notes on my mac do not show on my iPhone.

     

    The upgrade appears to be for iOS9 or OS X El Capitan however I currently have iOS 10 and OS X Yosemite so am not sure if that upgrade is suitable for my systems.

    How are your Notes affected on iCloud.com?

     

    This is the way Notes are synced.

     

    Phone to iCloud > iCloud to Mac.

     

    Are Notes being synced from phone to iCloud? Mac to iCloud? Where is the syncing broken?
