After reviewing your post, it sounds like the Apple Music app is freezing. There are a few things we can try to get the app working like normal again.
First, we can close the app and relaunch it to see if it responds.Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Second, we can restart the iPhone and see if the issue persists.

If the app still has trouble we can remove the Apple Music app and then reinstall it.

Sep 21, 2016 9:25 AM in response to sarah_s1by Mark Edwards4,Hi. I did a re-install of iOS 10 from itunes instead of from wi-fi and that seems to have solved the problem.
