Here is a method that does not require Applescript.
Add another column, C. You can hide that column later.
Formula in C2 (and Fill Down)
=IF(ISEVEN(B2),B2,"")
If a value in B is even, make the cell in C equal to the B cell, else insert "" (NULL).
Conditional highlighting in B
Alternative: use the ISODD function in C.

I have both text and numbers and dates in my sheet, so the comparison doesn't quite do it. Quite a nice "workaround" though for other situations.
