Sep 20, 2016 7:38 AM in response to turingtest2by Airsculpture,I simply altered the read write options for everyone to read and write on the newer iTunes app, then deleted it in trash. I copied the "previous itl library file from the relevant folder in iTunes folder then installed the older iTunes app.
Everything back to normal with ratings and play counts as well as album artwork intact.

Sep 20, 2016 7:48 AM in response to tnorrisby UpTheVale1876,This undoubtably is a bug...the Music App in iOS 10 has nearly all of the artist photos for me where iTunes is showing only about 10% of them. I'm sure a fix will come soon.
Has anyone else who has updated to iOS 10 noticed that compilation albums show up in Artist view categorised under a '?'...? Also there is no way to hide iCloud music purchases so your library just becomes cluttered with all your purchases even though you've not downloaded them to your iPhone / iPad.

Sep 20, 2016 7:54 AM in response to tnorrisby ramjetAZ,I spoke to Apple Support yesterday to make sure they were "aware" of this issue and it was being worked on. Well, they're aware of it but it's not being fixed. I was told this is the way it's going to be. Period.

Sep 20, 2016 7:56 AM in response to ramjetAZby Liatron,It'll never be removed. They never remove something they've added.
So are they fixing the bug or are they not? Your entire post was a "wat" there.

Sep 20, 2016 8:46 AM in response to Ian Kelleighby Jonathan Myers,Not true. Many of the missing photos in my library are from albums that I purchased from iTunes and plenty of the ones that are there are from albums that I did not.

Sep 20, 2016 9:30 AM in response to mas16septby poikkeus1,Additional info:
The iTunes/Artist View issue isn't a bug.
If you use buy a track or album from Apple digitally, the circular "badge" will usually appear in Artist View - something like this:
If you don't don't purchase tracks digitally from iTunes, a generic "microphone" image will appear in Artist View, and it always looks like this:
There's no way to edit this circular Artist "badge" in Artist View. The image, when it does appear, is Apple's way of verifying it's an Apple-purchased track. The circular "badge" is integrated into the Apple purchase system - so it's unlikely they're going to scrap something that big.
I urge you to contact Product Feedback if you're bothered by the Artist View issue:

Sep 20, 2016 9:35 AM in response to poikkeus1by Jonathan Myers,Please can people stop posting that this is related to whether you purchased the item through Apple or not. Enough of us have posted to say that this does not apply to our libraries for this to be untrue. What evidence does anyone have that this is a system feature and not just another snafu from Apple?
