Q: Why does my screensaver stop working after 5 seconds?

Hello! Long time lurker, first time asker

I just installed a screensaver of the live feed of the International Space Station on my MacBook air. It works well for about 5-10 seconds, before reverting back to my desktop. Now, all of my screen savers do the same thing. Is there a quick fix to this issue? I love to show my students my screen saver, but it's not as cool if it only lasts for a few seconds.

Thanks!

    Hello baconrules,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand that your screensaver turns off after about 5-10 seconds. Based on your description, it appears that something is causing the computer to wake up. I would first check the System Preferences > Energy Saver and make sure the box for "Wake for network access" is not checked. Make sure that there isn't anything that is causing the computer to wake, such as external keyboard or mouse/trackpad input, etc.

    Best regards.
