Q: Suddenly SIRI not listening

Installed the gold master version of Sierra several days ago. SIRI has been working just fine. This morning not. Invoking SIRI brings the SIRI dialog box on but the activity line stays absolutely straight when I speak. Sound is set at internal mic and the system pref panel hears me just fine. Have tried restarting the Mac, turning SIRI off then on from prefs; no love. Any suggestions as what to next are welcome.

Install the final release. There were reportedly 2 GMs issued. Yours may not be current.

If there were two, this is likely the second one; it was installed just maybe 36 hours before the problem started. Siri worked fine for that 36 hours. Besides, I don't reinstall systems based on rumors. It's probably some small supporting file buried in the OS. The trick is find out specifically.
