Q: apple watch

I have an Apple Watch Series 1 and have updated both my phone and the watch.  Now when I raise my wrist to check the time, I get maps and direction on how to get home.  I do not have maps opened on my phone and it only shows up on the watch.   This is killing my watch battery very quickly.  I went into settings and the options to have the watch face upon raise is gone.  Is there a setting I'm missing? When I look at my watch I just want to know what time it is!!!

    Hi

    The following steps may help:

    • You may have enabled directions on your watch. To check this:
      • Open the Maps app on your watch > press firmly on the display > tap on Stop Directions (if shown).

    • On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Wake Screen - under the heading "On Screen Wake Show Last App", select "While In Session".

If "While In Session" is already selected, then the following steps may help:

    • Choose a different setting (eg Within 8 Minutes of Last Use), wait for a few moments and then change it back to While in Session.

    • Return manually to the watch face (by pressing the Digital Crown) from any existing, open app before testing whether the change has become effective.
