Q: Unlocking Mac Pro with Apple Watch

I just downloaded the new Sierra operating system and have the newest OS on my watch and iPhone.  I have been trying to set up to where I can unlock my Mac with my Watch but can't seem to figure it out. Everything that I've read has said that I need to check the box that says Allow your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac. under security and privacy under general. Only problem is I can't find any such thing anywhere... Any suggestions would be great.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, iOS 10

You're supposed to open up System Preferences (on your MacBook), go to Security & Privacy, and then check the box that says "Allow your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac". And this didn't work for you?

Is your Apple Watch under the same Apple ID as your MacBook? If not, that's why it's not working. Otherwise... I really don't know.

Try going to the Watch app on your iPhone and choose General -> Apple ID and make sure it says you're signed in.  Then try restarting your Watch.

I'm having the same problem.  There were two radial boxes in System Preferences on my MBP when I started this process earlier today...but now they are gone.

Make sure you've enable two-factor authentication for your Apple ID. I did a little digging and found out that's  a requirement for it to work.

To do this on your MacBook:

Open system preferences > click on iCloud > click on Account Details > click on the Security tab > click the option to turn on Two-Factor Authentication, and provide any information that is asked for.

After you've done this, try going to Security & Privacy again and see if it works this time.
