Q: Safari so slow after update to Safari 10

Can anyone tell me why Safari 10 is SOOOOO slow on El Capitan 10.11.6.    I have tried on two separate networks, so its not that, have replaced com.apple.safari.plist and it still takes 10 seconds minimum to refresh a page

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1), 512GB flash storage; 8GB RAM

    Try to reset Safari settings:

    1.Open Safari

    2. Click on Safari menu at the top(to the right from the Apple logo)

    3. Select preferences/privacy tab

    4. Click on Remove all website data

    5. Close Safari.

    Delete Safari cache files:

    1. Click on finder

    2. Look for GO menu at the top

    3. click on GO and hold down the option key. This will show user library folder.

    4. Click on Library and look for Caches folder

    5. In caches folder open com.apple.Safari folder

    6. Move to trash Cache.db file.

If it will not help try to turn off Safari extentions

    1.Open Safari

    2. Click on Safari menu at the top(to the right from the Apple logo)

    3. Select preferences

    4. Find extentions tab

    5. Turn off all the extentions

    6. Relauch Safari

    Hello !

Please uninstall any anti virus , third party app from the system before following the steps .

Clear all history & website data , uninstall any extensions .

Click on go to go folder and type ~/Library

find folders - caches , cookies , saved application state - select all the contents and move to trash .

Also in folder safari select all the contents ( except book marks as you might be using it ) and move to trash .

Restart , empty the trash .

    Thanks !
