Sep 14, 2016 1:06 PM in response to Milan_Mumbaiby alex_h1,Hello Milan_Mumbai,
It's my understanding your phone number is showing as unknown in your settings. Also, you're being prompted to activate iMessage and FaceTime again. Both issues started after updating to iOS 10. I know it can be concerning when your iPhone isn't behaving as expected after an update. I am happy to help.
If there is an issue with your phone number in settings, it could impact the iMessage and FaceTime activations. First, I recommend restarting your iPhone. Restarting can resolve many unexpected behaviors. Please use the steps below to restart if needed.- Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
- Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
- After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue persists follow the steps below.
- Make sure that you’re connected to a cellular data or Wi-Fi network. If you're using an iPhone, you'll need SMS messaging to activate your phone number with iMessage and FaceTime. Depending on your carrier, you might be charged for this SMS.
- Go to Settings > General > Date & Time and make sure that you've set up your time zone correctly.
If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime
Have a wonderful day!
