Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are needing to install Mavericks on your computer. That is a great question! You can install Mavericks as long as you downloaded it with your Apple ID when it was available. You can find it in your App Store on the computer by going to the Purchases section. Once you have found it, check out this article for steps to Use the version of OS X that came with your Mac, or a compatible newer version.

Sep 21, 2016 10:30 AM in response to HubertNodzakby Eric Root,Try booting into Internet Recovery (command - option/alt - R on a restart). It is a slow process. This will install the OS that the computer shipped with. You can then try to upgrade from there.
